Dick Grayson Redesign
Dick's design is base on simplicity. Being a acrobat he prefer to have more flexibility and mobility, therefore he uses a "skeleton" utility belt which only carries the bare minimium equipment and his trusty Eskrima sticks.
Dick modified his Eskrima sticks that can powerup and discharge electric currents in time of need against more powerful enemies.
Used the red color scheme rather than his Nighwing blue color scheme to differentiate that he is a different persona(Batman/Nightwing). This costume might actually be a bridge to Batman Beyond's costume.
The cape is meant to be detachable if Dick decides that its getting in his way.

Huh. Well this IS a rather unique take on Dick Grayson as Batman. Kinda makes you wish he was still functioning as him, huh?

when i saw the image, i thought to myself "this is so unoriginal, it looks loke the new 52 nightwing!" but then i looked at your description and saw that was your intention! it's an awesome redeco, and as my story shows, it screams dick grayson without you even saying it. fav 4 u
